Trip Highlights

The moments that matter most

The cockpit visit is the highlight. Each passenger is invited forward for 2 to 3 minutes of unobstructed views through the cockpit windshield. The Everest summit fills the frame with no wing or engine in the way.

The flight narration names every peak as it appears: Langtang Lirung, Dorje Lakpa, Gauri Shankar, Melungtse, Numbur, Cho Oyu, Everest, Lhotse, Makalu. By the end you can identify them yourself.

At USD 240 for 1 hour, this is the most affordable way to see Everest from Nepal. No permits, no trekking, no multi-day commitment.

Trip Overview

A closer look

The Everest Mountain Flight is a 1-hour scenic flight along the eastern Himalayan range from Kathmandu. The fixed-wing aircraft flies at approximately 7,600 meters, parallel to the mountain wall, with every passenger guaranteed a window seat. The captain narrates the flight, identifying each peak by name as it appears.

The flight route covers 20+ peaks from Langtang Lirung (closest to Kathmandu) eastward to Everest and Chamlang. Major peaks include Gauri Shankar, Melungtse, Cho Oyu, Everest, Lhotse, Makalu, and Kangchenjunga in the distance. The aircraft banks for close views, and passengers are invited to the cockpit one at a time for unobstructed photographs of Everest.

Flights depart daily at 6 AM from Kathmandu domestic terminal. The early morning timing ensures the clearest visibility and smoothest air.

For a landing at Kala Patthar with ground time, the Everest Base Camp Helicopter Tour flies by helicopter with stops at 5,545m and the Everest View Hotel (USD 1,050). For the full trekking experience, the Everest Base Camp Trek takes 15 days (USD 1,675).
