Trip Highlights

The moments that matter most

The Trishuli rapids are fun without being frightening. Class II-III sections build confidence, and Class IV rapids provide genuine thrills. The balance makes this perfect for groups with mixed experience levels.

Riverside camping on a sandy beach is a highlight. Barbecue, campfire, and stargazing beside the river. The camp is set up by the crew while you relax after a day of paddling.

The Trishuli valley scenery includes terraced farmland, forested hillsides, and suspension bridges. The river passes through a working Nepali landscape that feels authentic and unscripted.

Trip Overview

A closer look

Trishuli Rafting is a 2-day, 38-kilometer journey on Nepal's most popular commercially rafted river. The Trishuli offers Class II-IV rapids that are exciting but manageable for beginners, families, and rafters of all ages. The river runs through a scenic valley between Kathmandu and Chitwan/Pokhara, making it easy to combine with other travel.

Day 1: Drive 2 to 3 hours from Kathmandu to the put-in. Raft through rapids with names like "Upset," "Surprise," and "Monsoon." Beach stop for lunch. Camp riverside with barbecue and campfire. Day 2: Morning rapids, swimming in calm pools, and take-out. Continue to Chitwan, Pokhara, or return to Kathmandu.

All equipment provided. Professional river guides give full instruction before and during.

For more intense white water, the Bhote Koshi Rafting offers Class IV-V rapids near the Tibetan border (2 days, USD 160). The Trishuli rafting combines well with a Chitwan Jungle Safari Tour since the river flows toward Chitwan.
