Trip Overview

A closer look

The Jhomolhari Trek is probably one of the most beautiful and unspoilt trekking areas in the entire Bhutanese Himalaya. The trek begins at Drukgyel Dzong, passing through beautiful villages, scattered hamlets, and farmland. Rich and varied vegetation ranges from heavily forested valleys to high alpine pastureland where yak herders graze their animals. Trout fishing in the sky-blue lakes, magnificent views of snow-capped peaks, and the possibility of encountering Himalayan blue sheep and even the elusive snow leopard are all possible on this trek. It is comfortable, low-impact, and absolutely unforgettable.
