Stand at 6,119 m above sea level, high above the glaciers of the Khumbu region, and be awed by the unparalleled views of the Khumbu giants. This is a trek to Lobuche East Peak, the second most popular peak climb after Island Peak. It follows the classic Everest Base Camp trek route up to Gorak Shep. Explore the old villages of the Khumbu valley and enjoy stunning views of the diverse landscape and lofty peaks.
This trek is perfect for those who love adventure and want to summit a towering peak. Start your trip with a scenic flight from Kathmandu to Lukla, offering beautiful views of green rolling hills, small villages, and the Himalayas. The trails you walk are well known for their history, locations, and stunning views (including the iconic Tengboche Monastery). Lobuche Peak is an excellent introduction to Himalayan high-altitude mountaineering, but you need to come prepared for the climbing challenge. Lobuche East is reached by descending a marked notch and then climbing steep snow slopes to the top.
