Trip Highlights

The moments that matter most

The Bhote Koshi rapids are fast, technical, and relentless. The river drops steeply through a narrow gorge with barely any flat water between rapids. This is the most adrenaline-intense rafting available in Nepal.

The riverside camp between rafting days sits on a sandy beach in the gorge. Barbecue, campfire, and the sound of the river at night. A stark contrast to the chaos of the rapids.

The gorge near the Tibetan border is dramatic: high walls, waterfalls entering from side streams, and lush vegetation. The scenery is as intense as the paddling.

Trip Overview

A closer look

Bhote Koshi Rafting is a 2-day Class IV-V white water adventure on Nepal's steepest commercially rafted river. The Bhote Koshi drops 100 meters per kilometer in places, creating technical rapids that demand active paddling. The river is only 2 hours from Kathmandu, making it the most accessible high-grade rafting in Nepal.

Day 1: Drive from Kathmandu to the put-in point near the Tibetan border. Raft through the gorge with rapids named "Big Dipper," "The Wall," and "Roller Coaster." Camp riverside with barbecue dinner. Day 2: Morning rapids and take-out. Drive back to Kathmandu by afternoon.

All safety equipment (helmets, life jackets, wet suits, paddles) provided. Professional river guides and safety kayakers accompany every trip.

For a gentler rafting experience, the Trishuli Rafting is Class II-IV and suitable for all ages (2 days, USD 280).
