Manaslu Circuit Trek in November

Trail conditions are outstanding for most of November: firm, dry ground and the year's sharpest light, with the low autumn sun carving out detail on Manaslu's north face that the higher October sun tends to flatten.

The first two or three weeks cross without much drama. Toward the end, real winter cold typically settles in, and although Larkya La generally stays open, microspikes shift from a backup item to something you will likely actually use if departing after about the twentieth.

The gorge and mid-valley shift from September's green to brown and gold as November wears on, and against fresh snow appearing high on Manaslu, the whole trek starts to look noticeably different from what October's photographs show.

The first ten days or so run close to October's numbers before the trail thins out considerably. Dharamsala stops feeling tight by the middle of the month, and that shift, more than the temperature, is the real argument for choosing November over October.

Roads stay dry and dependable through November, and demand for the Kathmandu to Machha Khola jeep drops off meaningfully after the first week, making transport easier to arrange than it is in October.
