Manaslu Circuit Trek in September

Below Jagat, early September still feels like August: wet, slow, leeches still present below Deng. Once the pattern breaks, usually around the middle of the month, the lower trail dries out within days and the whole character of the trek shifts.

Namrung and Lho hit their stride late in the month, with clear sightlines to Manaslu's north face becoming the rule rather than the exception. The last ten days at Samagaon carry a distinct freshness: monsoon greenery still intact, but finally under open sky.

Larkya La holds steady condition all through September regardless of the monsoon's retreat below. No snow, comfortable pre-dawn readings, and a crossing that sees a fraction of the traffic October brings to Dharamsala.

Quiet through the first half, building steadily from around the twentieth onward. Lodges thinned by August's traffic are back to full service by the last week, both guesthouses at Dharamsala included, and the Restricted Area Permit's peak rate takes effect at the start of the month regardless of when the weather actually turns.

The road improves markedly as September goes on. Real monsoon risk persists on the Arughat to Machha Khola stretch through roughly the first ten days; beyond that the route runs close to normal, and vehicle demand climbs steadily as autumn bookings come in from mid-month.
