Manaslu Circuit Trek in August

For roughly the first three weeks, August plays out much like July on the lower trail: soaked forest, swollen streams, and a pace that has to slow down to match the ground underfoot.

Higher up, past Namrung, the picture improves. Samagaon in August sits under Manaslu's glacier in air scrubbed clean by two straight months of rain, and a clear morning here shows a view sharper than the season has any right to produce.

The pass stays mild and simple, and the drop to Bimtang runs on dry rock and scree, cloud cover aside. The real change this month happens off the mountain entirely, on the road, where the final week starts to feel noticeably steadier than the first three.

Traffic stays light through most of the month with a small pickup near the end as autumn bookings start to firm up. Lower lodges run thin, Samagaon keeps a reasonable spread open, and Dharamsala's two guesthouses handle the reduced traffic without much trouble.

The Arughat to Machha Khola road behaves like July's for roughly three weeks, then starts settling as the heaviest rain eases off. Keep buffer days in the plan through the third week; after that, the route generally runs on a normal schedule.
