Langtang Valley Trek in August

Conditions match July, with the added factor that two months of rain have done their cumulative damage to the lower trail. Expect at least one repaired or rerouted section between Syabrubesi and Lama Hotel.

The meadows between Langtang village and Kyanjin Gompa are at their fullest in August, and the wildflowers along the valley floor are the best display of the year. On a clear late-August morning, flowers in the foreground with Langtang Lirung behind is a combination that no autumn trekker sees.

Road reliability improves steadily through August. The first three weeks carry the same landslide risk as July; by the last week the route is generally running normally again. Spare days remain sensible for anything before the 25th.
