Trail conditions in February
Snowpack above Langtang village peaks in February, because three months of winter fall have accumulated with almost no melting. On the main trail this rarely stops anybody, and the path to Kyanjin Gompa is usually broken and walkable within a day of any fall.
The high options are a different question. Tserko Ri in February often carries enough snow that the ascent becomes slow and the descent unpleasant, and the two Kyanjin Ri viewpoints are the realistic choice for most groups. A guide will make that call on the morning rather than the week before.
Lower down, the bamboo and rhododendron forest below Lama Hotel is dry, quiet and full of birds. Langur monkeys are common along this stretch and February's bare canopy makes them easier to spot than at any other time of year.
