Chulu West Peak (6,419m) is no doubt popular, yet a challenging peak for climbing situated in a little valley, which lies to the north of Manang in the Annapurna region. This is one of the peaks which can be seen from all the major trails of the Annapurna Thorung La-Pass. This peak offers you an exciting adventurous breathtaking view of Annapurna II, Annapurna III, Annapurna IV, Dhaulagiri, Nilgiri, Manaslu and Tilicho Peak. Chulu West Peak climbing offers superb Himalayan views of the Annapurna region, the beautiful vast landscapes and ethnic cultures and traditions.
Chulu West Peak climbing journey begins from Besisahar after a 5 to 6 hours drive from Kathmandu and reach as far as Pisang village. From here the trail leads us steadily straight into the Manang valley, one of the highest valleys of the world situated at an altitude of 5000m. Once we achieve this initial target of climbing this valley, we acclimatize and in between our rest, we take some time to explore the Manang valley and try to get an insight into the lifestyle, culture, tradition of the ethnic groups and tribes inhabiting this exotic region. From Manang valley the route heads north to lead into the Chulu West Base Camp. The gigantic views of the mountains and landscapes include the Manaslu massif and Annapurna massifs are very attractive while trekking to Chulu West Peak and returning from top.
This memorable adventure slowly comes to an end in Jomsom, a place providing ample opportunities to explore the diverse flora and fauna all along the trekking trail. From Jomsom we fly back to Pokhara and then to Kathmandu.
Chulu West Peak can be attempted by individuals having a moderate level of fitness. Technically less challenging attracts large numbers of visitors every year to make and attempt and reach out for the summit. Day 01 Arrival in Kathmandu airport (1345meters). Overnight at hotel.
Day 02 Pre-trip Meeting and Sightseeing around Kathmandu valley. Overnight at hotel.
Day 03 Drive to Benshi Sahar (865meters) 7hour. Overnight at hotel.
Day 04 Trek to Bahundada (1400meters) 5hour. Overnight at hotel.
Day 05 Trek to Chamje(1750meters) 6hour . Overnight at hotel.
Day 06 Trek to Dharapani (1970meters) 7hour . Overnight at hotel.
Day 07 Trek to Chame(2720meters) 6 hour. Overnight at hotel.
Day 08 Trek to Pisang (3200meters) 5 hour . Overnight at hotel.
Day 09 Trek to Manang(3400meters) 5hour . Overnight at hotel.
Day 10 Rest in Manang for acclimatization A necessary day to rest and acclimatize and explore Manang. the village of about 500 flat.
Day 11 Trek to Lader (4210 meters) 4hour . Overnight at hotel.
Day 12 Trek to Chulu West high camp (5200 meters) 5 hour after lunch our climbing guide will give short training. Overnight at tended camp.
Day 13-14 Early morning our sherpa will take to you Chulu West summit (6419 meters) Overnight at high camp tended camp.
Day 15 Trek down to Lader and trek Thorang pedi (4450 meters) 5 hour . Overnight at hotel.
Day 16 Trek to crossing over Thorang La pass (5416 meters) down to Muktinath (3800meters) 7 hour. Overnight at hotel.
Day 17 Trek to Jomsom (2720meters) 6hour . Overnight at hotel.
Day 18 Fly to Pokhara 15 minute. Overnight at hotel.
Day 19 Drive back to Kathmandu. Overnight at hotel.
Day 20 Transfer to international airport for your final flight departure.
Note:- Tight fitting, figure-hugging clothing, such as those made with Lycra can often be offensive to locals, especially on women. If you find these items comfortable as a base layer then please pack something to wear over the top of them.
