The homeland of Gurkha's,33 species of mammals,110 species of birds, 3species of reptiles,11 species of butterflies, 2000 species of plant located at east of Annapurna the Manaslu area Opened in 1992, this area offers a combination of rich culture heritage, unsurpassed beauty and biological diversity. The area cover the popular trekking routes Manslu circuit larkya pass and Tsum valley. Few trekkers trek to this area, which makes a visit here all the more unique and unspoiled. The area is bordered by River Budi Gandaki and to the west by River Marshyangdi. This area is marked by two cultural highlights. Gorkha, which is the ancestral seat of the reigning Shah dynasty and the temple of Manakamana.
Manaslu at 8163 meters (26, 775') is the 8th highest peak in the world and is located near to the border of Nepal and Tibet. The name Manaslu means "The Spirit-Mountain" in the local dialect, referring to the benevolent and strong deity, which dwells within. Trekking in Manaslu is one of the most delightful adventures. Closely packed stone houses projecting a courtyard give a sense and influence of Tibetan culture. As we move on Manaslu trek holds one of the finest mountain ranges including Mt. Manaslu, Mt. Bouddha Himal, Himal Chuli, Ngadi Chuli and Ganesh Himal ranges which rises on either side of the trail. After a small ravine we enter Lho village home to Buddhist monastery. The area was surreptitiously opened in 1991, but it took several years for the word to get out.
The best time to trek here is between September and May. Basic tea house and Camping Trekking is suggested in these area.
